Born from the passion and vision of Mr Ratan Tata, Electra EV was established with the belief that India must develop world-class electric mobility technologies of its own. Mr Tata was not only the company's promoter but also closely mentored it and served on its Board. Today, Electra EV continues to be guided by that founding vision, with governance anchored by Mr Tata's Trust and GEF Capital.

Beyond mobility, Electra EV is building a strong presence in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), with solutions for residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications.
The company operates advanced R&D, hardware, software and EV testing facilities in Pune, along with a world-class manufacturing facility in Coimbatore. Our capabilities include design and development, simulation, prototype development, validation, homologation support, production engineering, quality control, localisation, after-sales diagnostics and field support.
Electra EV has achieved organisation-wide IATF 16949:2016 certification for the design and manufacture of electric powertrains. Its manufacturing facility is also certified for ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health & Safety and ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management.

Pathbreaking Car. Pioneering EV Powertrain.
With a 48V architecture, NANO (branded as NEO) was a pioneering project for Electra EV, aiming to provide a FAME Compliant EV powertrain solution to multiple fleet customers. The first beneficiary was one of India's largest mobility platform companies. The 48V solution eliminates the design and operational complexities of a high voltage system while accommodating the performance requirements of light electric vehicles. It can be custom designed for similar cars or quadricycle offerings in that category.
Extended Range. Wider Smiles.
With a 72V architecture, the product development team at Electra EV was able to quickly respond to the customer need of an extended range from the 140 km variant of Tigor EV and modify the designs to increase the range to meet an ARAI certified range of 213 km without disturbing the physical boundaries available in the vehicle for the electric powertrain kit. Effective optimisation also played a role in improving cabin cooling. The cost increased minimally, thereby keeping smiles intact for all involved.

The all-new 96V EV powertrain designed and developed by Electra EV for the Tata Ace EV enables a perfect combination of performance and price. Our powertrain offers a certified range of 154 kilometers, with an advanced battery cooling system and regenerative braking system to boost the driving range. It is powered by a 27kW (36hp) motor with 130Nm of peak torque. Our engineering expertise ensures robust powertrain performance and safety in diverse Indian road and weather conditions. At the same time, our understanding of EV applications focuses on helping the end customer realise a significantly lower total cost of ownership.
